If your profession is music… or you love music, you study music, you dream music, you breathe music, write music, record music, are obsessed with being great in the music industry, spend 20+ hours a day doing music music music music… and then you say “Jesus is my life,” then Jesus is not your life.
Music was my life (past-tense). Everything about me was music. And I was not ashamed of it either. I’d proclaim it from the rooftop. Music was my everything. Music was my life and the force behind my DRIVE to be successful. But music is NOT life. Music does not save. Don’t trust your ears and don’t trust your heart. Your heart is a fraud. Don’t let the devil and the beautiful enchanting sound of music charm you into a false sense of love and peace. Oftentimes music will put you in place (temporary place) of love, happiness or feeling calm. But it’s temporary and it’s fake just like DRUGS. Music was my drug and it was quickly leading me to HELL. But Jesus set me free from that addiction and showed me where permanent happiness (joy) is found. Joy is found only in Him. Peace is found only in Him. Eternal life is found only in Him. Jesus Christ is LIFE.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
