Charm is Deceptive; Beauty is Vain
So I’ve seen the #nomakeupmovement thingy started supposedly by Alicia Keys. That’s great. Celebrities are known for wearing tons of make-up because they’re faces are always being scrutinized by the media and the public. Let the celebrities do that. Let Hollywood do what they’re known to do: FAKE IT. They fake everything. But we know this is nothing new. When women of God imitate the world by wearing their make-up and hair like celebrities, then you put yourself in the “FAKE” category also. Do you wear make-up and wigs / fake hair? So what, many women do. But do you look like yourself afterwards or do you look like a completely different person?
These are excellent examples (in my opinion) of beautiful hair and make-up:
Why do I consider these excellent examples? Because they still look like themselves. I don’t see a huge difference in the Before and After. I see nothing wrong here. They’re all beautiful even without the make-up. I have never been one to knock wearing make-up, but I do have a problem when women wear TOO MUCH make-up. I think there’s a point when you need to draw the line and say, “I’m happy with the way God made me.” But in today’s world, it seems the more you transform your face, the better you look .
I couldn’t disagree more. Being yourself is the ultimate beauty. It is wrong to physically transform into a completely different-looking woman, and then get upset when others discover what you truly look like. If others get upset, it’s because they’re feeling misled. People say that beauty is skin deep, or beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Then why cover up what God has created as beautiful?
I read a comment on Twitter, where a woman said, “I get ignored when I don’t have make-up on”….
I look at it like this, if every guy is walking past you when you have no make-up on, PRAISE THE LORD! You know why? Cause that ONE guy who does stop and take notice of you – he sees what the others don’t see. Pay attention to him! I have a real life TRUE love story on how my husband & I met – and for 2 YEARS every other guy didn’t look twice at me! But he did. And we’re married now. He gets to see the beautiful me – and the busted me! Lol
Awesome Make-up? or Great Deception?
Is this witchcraft? This is not to point fingers or belittle anyone’s cosmetology talent. This message is for women of God who want to obey the word of God. Inward beauty is precious to the Lord.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
I watched a few hair/makeup transformations and I must say they are very impressive. But although it’s extraordinary cosmetology, it’s makeup like this that is a scary thought for most men. He’s thinking, am I going to wake up married to a stranger? And who can blame them? Read below, comments from social media and see what people think.
Don’t let other people’s thoughts and opinions drive you to covering up you beautiful face. I’m not saying stop wearing make-up, but I am saying don’t be ashamed of what natural beauty God has designed … YOU!
